Nancy Ellington has been painting for more than thirty years and specializing in plein air painting for the last decade. During that period she studied under many of the top plein air painters including Kevin Macpherson, Brian Stewart, Joanne Marron LaRue, Jean Perry, Matt Smith, Ray Roberts, John Budicin, Ken Auster, Ralph Oberg and Tim Allen Lawson. She has appeared in more than a dozen juried shows, the most recent in May, 2005 in Taos, New Mexico where she won the Plein Air Magazine award for most outstanding painting. She is a member of the California Art Club, the Plein Air Painters Society of San Diego,  the Oil Painters of America and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.

Nancy is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society.

Nancy has painted at western locations including Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and California, especially the latter in the mountains surrounding her home in Pauma Valley, California. Her work is represented in more than forty private collections in sixteen states and in England.

Nancy's work was shown in the OPA National 2007 Show in Fredericksburg, TX, and can be seen in the OPA Western Regional Show at the Waterhouse Gallery, Santa Barbara, CA, September 15th, 2007.
